In the example we will use a Nokia 6600. Your phone's menus and responses may differ, but this will give an idea of what Whizzper looks like. You can also skip down to Installation, Registration or Login. Under Login, we will introduce basic concepts such as the Inbox, Password Change, Status Change and Exiting the Application. In general remember to Navigate by using the phones right, left, up and down controls and confirming with "Continue", "Select", or "OK".
In case you're not familiar with navigating via WAP we'll show a few shots on how to get to the Whizzper download page.
I find it best to make a Whizzper bookmark. From my WAP page I can keep up on new versions and goings on in the world of Whizzper.
I call it "Whizzper" and insert the URL for the download.
I save changes with Select.
I agree here.
This terminal connects using an internet connection. This saves me money, but a WAP connection is also possible here.
Here's the Whizzper WAP page. Self-explanatory... I click on Get Whizzper!
You can choose either to go right into the Installation process or see details on the application (version, kBs, etc).
Of course I will.
This terminal gives a choice of installation in the phone's memory or in the memory card.
Here we go!!!
I've got Whizzper now in my Menu. In other terminals it may be saved in Applications, Games, or similar folders.
So, I click on Whizzper to open the application.
Since it's my first time I need to register. The register button is active by default, so I simply select "Continue". "Continue" will be used to confirm each of the steps in the Registration process.

I choose the country that my phone number belongs to. An SMS with my password will be sent to this number, so I need to choose wisely here.
Luckily, Whizzper is attentive and makes sure I chose the country I intended and gives me the chance to correct my decision by saying "No" in the Options Menu.

You know, I live in England, but I happen to be working in Spain and am using my Spanish phone to register with Whizzper. I go back and select Spain.
Whizzper takes this information and fills in the correct format for me, including the country code. Spanish mobile phones have 9 digits and begin with 6. I replace the #s with the 8 remaining digits.

In the "Username" field I invent a Whizzper ID. I can't use special characters here and there is a 14 character limit.
I can decide to create my MSN, Yahoo or AIM account information either now or later in the "Settings" option.

Now all that's left for me to do is accept the terms and conditions, which I do.
My phone confirms that I wish to submit this information over the network. I say Yes.

I am given a choice as to which Access Point I wish to use. In most terminals this is configured elsewhere.
Whizzper politely informs me that I have been registered correctly and that I will receive my password by SMS.In fact, I've already received it!

And there it is!
My SMS confirms my username and reveals my password.

I go back into Whizzper.
Hmm... Looks familiar. This time I select "Login", however.

I type in my the Username and the Password assigned to me by Whizzper as it was confirmed in the SMS message.
This terminal, as before confirms the type of connection to be used. I choose Internet. A setting in the phone can be activated so that this is only asked the first time.

Whizzper connects to the server...
Whizzper checks my username and password information and loads my Whizzper buddies.

In the registration process I provided my MSN account information, so Whizzper automatically connects to MSN and informs me of that. "OK" reveals my Buddy page.
I see my Username alongside a green Whizzper icon. This means my buddies see me as Online. I see my Online buddies at the top of the list. The icon to the right indicates from where my buddy is connecting (Whizzper, MSN, Yahoo, AIM, etc...) My Inbox tab is blinking with a little envelope above it. Whizzper wants to tell me something.

I use my phone's right control to see Whizzper's welcome message. I'm informed on how to add Whizzper Buddies and how to input or update MSN, Yahoo, AIM, etc. account information. See the section on the Inbox for more information on this window.

I select "Menu", scroll down to "Change Password" and "Select".

I type in my old password and confirm my new password twice and go to "Options".

I save changes.
Whizzper promptly updates my Password information. By the way, notice something different about my Whizzper icon? I'm yellow! This means my buddies are seeing me as busy. How did I do this?

Simple. From the Menu I scroll to "My Status..." and "Select".
I choose the status I wish for my buddies to see me as and I "Select" again.

As much as it pains me, there comes a time when I must leave Whizzper. I go to the Menu, scroll to "Exit" and hit "Select".
Whizzper confirms my decision. If I want to stay I select "No" in "Options".

Whizzper closes the IM session.
