Whizzper Features

Moving Around in Whizzper

This section will introduce you to the menus in Whizzper. The Menus are pulled up by selecting the "Menu" option. They are dynamic according to what's going on and repetitive so you can access important functionality from more than one place. Whizzper navigation is intuitive. After just one session the user feels right at home. Skip down to see explantions on specific Menu options: Message, Buddies, Settings, Invite a Friend, Exit and the Inbox options.

Menu on the Buddies Tab

Message

Whizzper Menus The Buddies tab is the first one I come across. If I highlight a buddy, open the "Menu", and select "Message" a text editor is opened and I can compose a message to that buddy. See Dialogues. As a result a dialogue tab is opened. I use my right control to get the dialogue.

Whizzper Menus
While I'm here in the dialogue tab, I see that the "Message" option appears in this menu as well. I use it in the same way as before to shoot quick messages to my buddy.

Whizzper Menus Still in the dialogue tab menu, I use "Close" to shut this tab when I've finished conversing with this buddy. See the Settings and Exit sections for explanations on these repeated menu options.

Buddies

Whizzper Menus The "Buddies" option from the Buddies tab is dynamic and when selected provides options depending on the circumstances.

Whizzper Menus When no other scenarios are in play, and I have no buddies to remove I'm given the option to add a new Whizzper buddy. See Add a Whizzper Buddy.

Whizzper Menus Here I'm in the middle of adding a Whizzper buddy and I'm given the option to "Authorise" my new buddy to receive information on my presence. See Add a Whizzper Buddy. If I were to highlight a buddy and select "Remove", the highlighted buddy would be deleted from my list.

Settings

Whizzper Menus "Settings" on the buddies page when selected gives me options to configure my Whizzper data (password, external IM accounts, and my online status).

Whizzper Menus Selecting "Accounst" leads me to a screen which allows me to update my MSN, Yahoo amd AIM accounts. See IM Accounts.

Whizzper Menus Selecting "My Status" allows me to change how my buddies perceive my presence.

Whizzper Menus In the screen above I am busy (indicated by the yellow Whizzper icon). By highlighting "online" and hitting "Select" my status is promptly updated and I am shown in green on my screen and to all my connected buddies. See Changing Your Status.

Whizzper Menus Hitting "Select" while highlighting "Change Password" takes me to the screen which allows me to change my Whizzper password. This is helpful and recommended. See Changing Your Whizzper Password.

Invite a Friend

Whizzper Menus The "Invite a Friend" option from the Buddies tab allows me to share Whizzper with my friends. When I hit "Select" I'm given a screen which lets me type in a friends mobile phone number (most terminals allow access to the phonebook). An SMS will be sent with my name on it instructing my friend on how to get Whizzper. See Invite a Friend.

Exit

Whizzper Menus The "Exit" option when selected takes me out of Whizzper. See Exiting Whizzper.

Inbox Options

Whizzper Menus The Inbox is a very helpful tab where I will find useful information from Whizzper, news, invitations and more. See Inbox for more information. The Inbox options are also dynamic. When no other scenarios are in play I'm given the Settings and Exit options.

Whizzper Menus When I have a message in my Inbox the "Delete" option appears. With the message to be deleted highlighted, I open the "Menu", highlight "Delete" and hit "Select". I like to keep my Inbox free of clutter.

Whizzper Menus In the screen above a buddy is asking for permission to add me to his list. I open the "Menu" and see that I now have the additional options of "Accept" or "Reject". I accept of course by hitting "Select". See Add a Whizzper Buddy.
